Metaphorm

Metaphorm is our own personal project and involves creations based on different themes and executed through different media. For our inaugural Metaphorm, we decided to create a publication with high design values.
The publication features a collection of photos, all taken with iPhone 12 Pro, during a trip to Mozambique and Madagascar. The photos focus on children and the hard conditions they live in juxtaposing it with their optimism or daily routine. In this place where drinking water is carried in dirty containers, and 70% of women suffer from anemia, the children dance. The children laugh.
The array of photos is accompanied by African poetry as well as poetry from other continents, texts from famous and unknown authors, epistolary, reportages, children homework and UNICEF statistics. It’s a combination of image and word. A meeting point of different expressions on paper.
The publication reflects our perspective on an unknown, underexposed world, as we try to give shape to emotions evoked. We also aim to inform, provoke, create a dialogue and stimulate a thinking process. We go by the name of the boat in one of the photographs: Soa Fa Haiko: It’s good to know.
